Special Meeting and Voting Announcement
A special meeting for current members of the Sanford Lake Association has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, 7:00-7:15 p.m. via Zoom. Please check your email for the invitation. During the meeting, the Board of Directors will present members with a proposed update to the association's by-law Section 2.0 to strengthen and clarify our non-profit status. The following additions to our by-laws are suggested to better explain our intentions to always remain a non-profit and to make sure we have a documented exit strategy related to SLA assets, in the extremely unlikely event that the SLA would ever cease to exist in the future.
Each member household will be asked to vote on the proposed change. The voting will be by electronic means and members will have up to five (5) days following the Special Meeting to cast their vote. You may vote even if you do not attend the meeting using the link provided in the email. A "yes" vote by a two thirds (2/3) majority of those who vote will be necessary to make the by-law change.
Section 2.0 -- Organization. We propose to add two new sub-sections 2.3 and 2.4, as follows:
2.3 This organization is intended to be a non-profit organization, and will remain so throughout the life of the organization.
2.4 Should the organization be dissolved, all assets and real and personal property will revert to the benefit of the local government or another non-profit organization.
The current full by-law language can be viewed using the button below. |
Please refer to your email to find the special meeting notice which was sent on 6/1/2025. If you did not receive the email with the meeting invitation and voting instructions, and you believe you are currently a member of the Sanford Lake Association, please send an email inquiry to sanfordlakeassociation@gmail.com. |
